📝 From April 1, 2025 we will update the General Terms and Conditions

We bring you news that will help you better understand our conditions.


From 1 April 2025 we are changing our General Terms and Conditions. We have prepared the changes with an emphasis on greater clarity, readability and fairness. Our aim is to make sure you are always clear about how GoDrive works, what you can expect from us and what we can expect from you.


Along with the new terms and conditions comes an upgrade to our mobile app, which will also be launched on 1 April 2025. Please make sure you have automatic updates enabled - this is the only way to ensure everything runs as it should. The update brings better visibility of bookings, easier payments and faster response times.



What exactly is changing from 1 April 2025 and why?


1. Registration, reservation and conclusion of the rental contract

We've simplified the wording and added little things to make it easier to start each ride. The goal is to make everything make sense the first time you read it.

 

2. Automatic fare top-up

This is a new feature that will simplify the way you pay for rides if you exceed the value of your prepaid package or deposit. You will find the full text in the GTC in section 1.12.How will this work? The moment your fare exceeds at least CZK 300, the system will automatically charge the balance to your credit card during the booking process. If by any chance the payment fails, we will inform you by e-mail or SMS. However, in the event of insufficient funds, your access to the vehicles may be temporarily blocked until the outstanding amount is paid.

 

3. Specification of the procedure in the event of damage to the vehicle

We have modified the part of the terms and conditions that relates to the liability of the lessee in the event of damage to the vehicle. All details can be found in the GTC in clauses 1.3 to 1.8.

 

What does this mean in practice?GoDrive provides both compulsory liability and accident insurance. If you cause damage while driving, you are liable for a deductible of 5% of the amount of the damage, with a minimum of CZK 5,000. This amount can be supplemented by a so-called lump sum compensation of up to CZK 10,000, which covers the costs of administration, communication with the insurance company, vehicle downtime and other related expenses. In case of total damage, the deductible increases to CZK 25,000. If an accident occurs, the renter is obliged to immediately contact our Customer Service Line, fill in an accident report (found in the car) and cooperate with the insurance company.

 

4. Procedures for non-compliance with the terms and conditions

We've added more specific rules and penalties to our terms and conditions in case someone violates our terms and conditions - either repeatedly or in a major way. Our aim is not to "punish" anyone, but to protect the fair operation of the service and ensure that it is accessible and safe for everyone.


For example, we have added to the terms and conditions situations where:


  • the user breaks traffic rules (e.g. fails to report damage, fails to return the car on time, breaks traffic laws),

  • does not cooperate in the settlement of an insurance claim,

  • repeatedly failing to meet their payment obligations,

  • smoking in vehicles,

  • misuses the account or vehicle in violation of the rules

  • ...


In such cases, specific contractual penalties, temporary blocking of access to the service, or - in extreme cases - termination of the user account may result. We have described all steps in a way that is transparent, predictable and fair to all users.


5. Minor adjustments to nomenclature

We have made several minor language changes to the text of the General Terms and Conditions to unify and clarify the terms used. The aim is to make all wording clear, consistent and more relevant to the actual operation of the GoDrive service.

 

What do these changes mean for you?

All the modifications have been made to simplify and streamline the use of our service. We want you to always have a clear overview of how our service works and what you can expect. You are of course free to reject our proposed changes to the General Terms and Conditions. By accessing or using the Services after the change to the Terms and Conditions has taken effect, you automatically agree to the new wording.
